"British Open:Third-round play" This morning at 7 on ESPN. Third-round play on the Old Course at St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Records indicate that golf has been played on this site since at least the 16th century. This is the 28th time St. Andrews has hosted this event since 1873, with Tiger Woods winning the last two Opens played here in 2000 and 2005.

"Cops" Tonight at 8 on Fox. Police in Portland, Ore., use their Tasers to break up a fight; stolen merchandise is found on Las Vegas teens accused of breaking store windows with rocks.

"Powering the Future" Tonight at 8 on Discovery. Efforts to provide power in the future are examined in the opener of a documentary series focused on potential new energy sources and the drive to end dependence on fossil fuels.

"Jack's Family Adventure" Tonight at 9 on Hallmark. A successful ad man (Jonathan Silverman) tries to reconnect with his family by taking them on a monthlong vacation to a rustic cabin that he recently inherited. Though resistant at first, the family start to enjoy themselves after meeting a cowboy (Peter Strauss) who teaches them about life's simpler pleasures.

"2012" Tonight at 9 on Starz. When a global cataclysm throws the world into chaos, divorced writer and father Jackson Curtis (John Cusack) races to save his family by obtaining passage on a gigantic ark in China. Directed by Roland Emmerich.

"Shrek 2" Tonight at 9 on TBS. Although not quite the equal of the 2001 original, this smart and funny sequel still delivers the goods as the big green ogre (voice of Mike Myers) meets his in-laws. The voice cast also includes Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas (who steals every scene he's in as Puss in Boots).

"My Ghost Story" Tonight at 10 on BIO. The opener of a series recalling supposed experiences involving ghosts includes a scientist's discovery of mysterious footage on his security camera; a ghost crew aboard a ship; the ghosts of slaves who used the Underground Railroad; the spirit of a jilted bride who haunts the hotel where she committed suicide.
