"Hawthorne" Tonight at 9 on TNT. The hospital drama opens its second season. With Richmond Trinity out of business, numerous staff members land employment at a decaying hospital in a run-down neighborhood. There, Christina and Bobbie clash with the nursing supervisor, and Tom must relinquish his administrative post.

"Deadliest Catch" Tonight at 9 on Discovery. Trouble for Capt. Phil Harris on the Cornelia Marie; Capt. Johnathan Hillstrand seeks warmer waters.

"30 for 30" Tonight at 9 on ESPN. The early-1990s deaths of Colombian soccer player Andres Escobar and drug baron Pablo Escobar are the focus of "The Two Escobars," a documentary look at the influence of drugs on soccer in the South American nation. Directed by Jeff and Michael Zimbalist.

"Downfall" Tonight at 9:01 on ABC. The premiere of a game show in which contestants atop a 10-story building field trivia questions in a timely manner. The objective is to keep a conveyor belt full of prizes from dumping the booty over the side of the high-rise. Chris Jericho hosts.

"Memphis Beat" Tonight at 10 on TNT. A crime drama focusing on offbeat Memphis detective Dwight Hendricks (Jason Lee), a Southern charmer with a passion for his city and blues music. In the series opener, Dwight investigates the abuse of an elderly female disc jockey, but his loose crime-fighting manner irritates his disciplined boss (Alfre Woodard). Meanwhile, Dwight's spirited mother woos a neighbor. George Clooney serves as an executive producer.

"Primetime: Mind Games" Tonight at 10:01 on ABC. Vagaries of the human mind and behavioral abnormalities are explored in case studies in this six-episode series. First up: the 1980 kidnapping of a Minnesota teacher and her 8-year-old daughter by a man who had been in her high-school math class 15 years earlier. The two were held in a closet in his home for 53 days before they managed to escape. The perpetrator also killed a 6-year-old potential witness to the abduction. Deborah Roberts reports.
