Both teams are bowl eligible prior to this game for the first time since 1996. The Midshipmen won their eighth straight over Army last year,17-3, with Ricky Dobbs rushing for 113 yards. Navy holds a 54-49-7 lead in the overall series.
"Frosty the Snowman" Tonight at 8 on CBS. Jimmy Durante narrates the story about the warmhearted man of snow, who risks a meltdown from rising temperatures unless he can get to the North Pole. Voices...Frosty: Jackie Vernon. Prof. Hinkle: Billy De Wolfe.
"Taliban" Tonight at 8 on CNN. Norwegian journalist Paul Refsdal's "Taliban: Behind the Masks" documentary, in which a Taliban commander offered him unfettered access to his band of fighters, is interspersed with Anderson Cooper's incisive questioning of the war correspondent, which fleshes out the footage and also explores why he risked his life to get it. (Refsdal was eventually held hostage for six days.) The documentary portion captures the fighters' day-to-day lives, and includes footage of an attack on a U.S. convoy.
"Heisman Trophy Presentation" Tonight at 8 on ESPN. The 76th ceremony in New York honors college football's most outstanding player. Last year, Alabama's Mark Ingram became just the second non-quarterback to win the award since 1999.
"An Old-Fashioned Christmas" Tonight at 8 on Hallmark. A young American (Catherine Steadman) and her refined grandmother (Jacqueline Bisset) spend Christmas in Ireland, where they visit an earl whose fortune is dwindling. But the earl's scheming wife (Marion O'Dwyer) has a plan to restore the family's wealth that involves a romance between the American and the earl's son (Leon Ockenden). Don McBrearty directed this sequel to 2008's "An Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving."
"Lombardi" Tonight at 8 on HBO. A profile of iconic football coach Vince Lombardi, whose single-minded dedication to winning led the Green Bay Packers to multiple NFL championships, including the first two Super Bowls. Featured are interviews with Lombardi's family and former players, including Willie Davis, Jerry Kramer and Bart Starr.
