The Rockets rode WR-KR Eric Page and a plus-14 turnover margin to their first bowl since 2005. Coach Mario Cristobal has FIU making its bowl debut after a four-year run in which the team went 9-39.
"Family Guy" Tonight at 9 on Fox. Lois' dad slips into a coma after celebrating too much at his bachelor party and even Dr. House (voice of Hugh Laurie) can't get him out of it. That leaves an opening at the top of Pewterschmidt Industries, and into it steps Peter. Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons have voice cameos in their "Big Bang Theory" roles.
"Masterpiece Contemporary" Tonight at 9 on PBS. "Framed" is about the move of the National Gallery's art collection to a Wales mine for safekeeping (a la WWII) due to a plumbing disaster. Trevor Eve stars as a stodgy curator whose world is upended by a local teacher (Eve Myles) whose idea of art differs from his. At the same time, he forms an attachment to a young boy (Sam Davies) whose financially distressed family has fallen on even harder times since his father left. Adapted by Frank Cottrell Boyce from his popular children's book.
"My Kid Survived" Tonight at 10 on TLC. The story of a 9-year-old boy who endured the freezing wilderness after being left behind on a Boy Scout camping trip. Also: an 11-year-old girl gets lost in alligator-infested swamp lands; a teen survives after getting pinned to her car.
